As a Route Sales Supervisor, you will supervise Route Sales Representatives to ensure that our customers receive excellent, timely service and that products are effectively merchandised in all of our supermarket accounts. Your time will be spent as follows: 80% spent training, and developing the route sales team. This could consist of route rides with RSRs, physically running routes, and/or doing market tours, meeting bakery and store management developing action plans to increase business.

Specific Responsibilities
'Supervises Route Sales Representatives to ensure that they are providing consistent, excellent, timely service to supermarket accounts. Supervise and train Route Sales Representatives to ensure that they do the following:
Maintain proper product mix in freezer per planogram.
Maintain Point of Sale material in excellent condition, changing as necessary for promotions or to replace old or dirty POS in a timely manner.
Maintain supermarket Carvel freezers in a clean and neat manner, ensuring that Carvel products and packaging are fresh, clean and attractive.
Clean Carvel freezer cases in supermarket accounts, inside and outside.
Rotate and roll product between RSR service visits to ensure minimal scrap, and removes out-of-date and/or damaged product from accounts.
Move product into Carvel freezer from supermarket back stock as needed. Sell in product when necessary.
Perform preventative maintenance on supermarket freezers, including defrosting, setting defrost cycle clocks, and cleaning coils and condensers.
Conduct in-store sampling and promotions in Carvel supermarket accounts.
Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with supermarket operations personnel, resolving product or service problems promptly and ensuring excellent customer relations.
'Maintain efficiencies and cost-effectiveness in all aspects of DSD operations in the area.
'Build and maintain positive, productive relationships with chain operations personnel to increase distribution points, execute market-wide and targeted promotional activities, improve customer relations, and problem resolution.
'Ensure that all products are sold into all accounts, as appropriate, and that pricing strategies, including promotional pricing, are implemented accurately.
'Fill in for Route Sales Representatives as needed to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality service to Carvel's supermarket accounts.
'Any and all responsibilities as required by management.

What do I need to be considered a candidate?
'21 years or older.
'Licensed with CDL Class B and have no prior accidents.
'Physically able to perform the job: 
extended standing, driving are required; 
heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required on a routine basis.
'Able and willing to travel.
'Self-motivated, able to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making.
'Punctual and reliable in their work attendance.
'Professional, courteous and reliable with outstanding organizational skills.
'Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
'Flexible and able to work with others as a team.
'Possess solid general computer, math, and analysis skills.
'Demonstrate positive leadership; prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
'Experience in Direct Store Delivery.
