Motista seeks an eager, creative, self-motivated Rails Developer who is ready to hit the ground running. We are looking for someone to be an influential member of a small, core team creating and implementing Motista’s web-based intelligence product for marketers. This position will report to the CTO and work closely with the founders who are serial entrepreneurs. With full life cycle Ruby on Rails development, this position is perfect for the developer wishing to unleash their full creative and analytical powers.
Lead front-end development of the Motista product, including extending existing features and building out extensive new features
Execute Ruby on Rails development for back-end integration
Execute end-to-end web development, delivered on time and high quality
Design, architect, implement, and test new functionality
Help conceptualize new features and functionality based on product management feedback
Work creatively to solve challenging problems
Be hands on and "do what it takes"
At least two years of Ruby on Rails experience
Previous startup experience, ideally for a B2B SaaS, web or related product preferred
Strong user experience design / interaction design reasoning skills
Experience working in an Agile environment
5+ years of work experience as a software engineer
Understanding of scalability, systems engineering, and algorithms
Experience with automated testing / continuous integration frameworks
Experience provisioning and managing cloud resources preferred
Familiarity with the popular Rails Plugins/Gems
Computer Science undergraduate degree required, masters preferred
