Manage and coach all sailing programs and other waterfront activities for the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Duties include The Intercollegiate Competitive Racing Program, including coaching at regattas, training in practice, and overseeing about 40 student athletes, the Instructional Program, teaching credit classes to students, non-credit classes open to all, a childrens instructional program offered through the Swim/Sport Summer Camp and the Recreational Sailing Program, open daily for supervised recreational sailing from April through October, including an academic year program and summer term program. Supervise and maintain the sailing facility and all boats and launches and manage all sailing equipment.
Requires: B.A./B.S., course instruction in sailing, canoeing, boardsailing and racing, knowledge of sailboat and launch maintenance, familiarity with outboard engines, course instruction in CPR, Basic First Aid, Sr. Lifesaving and Water Safety Instructor, four to six years of teaching sailing and seven to ten years of sailing and racing experience.
