Job Summary

  • This position will be located in our Livonia office 4 days per week with 1 day per week required travel to our Okemos office. Occasional travel of two days per week to Okemos may be required based on business need. Mileage reimbursement will be provided for the day(s) of travel to Okemos.
The Sales Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for the commercial sales organization, including managers, outside sales representatives, account managers, and the Business Sales & Support Center (BSSC). Primary duties include maintaining documentation and databases (SFA, BSR, etc), distributing sales leads, processing and assigning contacts with external customer requests made via the RNW, answering incoming calls, data entry, office management, vendor management, ordering office supplies. This position also provides general administrative support, as well as back-up support to other members of the commercial sales organization as needed or when necessary.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide in-office support to the Livonia and Lansing managers, outside sales representatives, account managers, BSSC, and customers. (e.g., distribute sales leads through SFA, pull CSR/CSIs, address validations, DSL loop qualifications, provide message support, review sales contracts for compliance,submit orders through order entry process, follow/track orders in COBRA and METASOLV, prepare and package sales proposals)

SFA company, contact and task management/data validation

Manage the local sales office(s) (e.g., maintain office supplies, maintain marketing material inventory, ensure office cleanliness and organization, coordinate proper functioning of facility(ies) and telecommunications, provide reception services, back up other Sales Assistants as needed)

Schedule, coordinate and participate in sales conferences, training sessions, tours, marketing functions and meetings.

Provide administrative support to sales and account coordination managers as requested.

The position may be filled at the Sales Assistant or Sr. Sales Assistant level based on experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
2+ years in an administrative position

High school diploma, GED or HSED

Other Qualifications:
Highly motivated administrative professional

Friendly with a cheerful, can-do attitude

Anxious to learn more about telecommunications and sales

Individuals who enjoy a busy sales office environment

Able to accept customer feedback, tap into available resources and go to solution

Organized, efficient and time conscious

Experience with office telecommunications
