Summary: Reporting to the Enterprise Applications Manager in Information Technology, the position will be responsible for providing technical support and administrative services for ERP (SAP). As an ABAP developer, you will work in a fast paced environment with team members that span geographies. Programming is coordinated with our SAP team in Germany. This is not a ‘heads down’ development position but one where you will work closely with all areas of Kärcher North America providing SAP-based solutions.

You will research new techniques and think about the big picture when designing solutions that are innovative and high quality. You will review and refine SAP development standards and processes and identify areas for improvement. Transferring knowledge to peers and other users via trainings is a responsibility of this position.


Develops and implements high level, complex business application modules to support critical business processes and functions for SAP ECC 6.0.
Identifies root causes for new problems as well as recurring issues; gathers and documents functional requirements to determine resolution.
Analyzes, defines, and documents system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
Creates/modifies reports and database queries as required.
Works with iDoc creation, monitoring, and issue resolution.
Sets up secure user profiles.
May provide training on new or changed applications for team members and business areas.
Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to team members and business areas on matters related to the implementation and operation of automated information processing solutions.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Works under the direction of an Information Technology Manager who defines goals and guidelines for the group. Work assignments are in the form of areas of responsibility and are typically generally defined.

Four (4) years’ experience working with SAP application support and programming using ABAP or any equivalent combination of education and experience that satisfies the requirements of the job.
Experience developing applications in multiple SAP modules is required. Experience with SAP MM/PP, SD, FI/CO, BW is preferred.
Experience providing production support to end users.
Excellent technical, customer service, and communication skills.
Experience working on technical projects and the ability to work effectively independently or in a team-oriented environment.
Support of SAP ECC 6.0 including ABAP programming, iDoc structures, RFCs, security, designing and creating reports, interface programs. Ability to use SAP Script.
Experience working with and supporting ERP or other large business systems is preferred.

Ability to provide training one-on-one or in a group setting.
Ability to handle multiple and moderately sized assignments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of SAP methodology, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques; and leadership skills including planning, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
Ability to contribute to the development of new processes as well as effectively identify, analyze, and resolve highly complex technical issues.
