The Application Technical Architect is the technical expert responsible for the technical direction, issues, architecture, technical integration and technical service levels for a group of technologies. The Application Technical Architect defines technical requirements & design to support defined business requirements, develops technical architecture components, participates in detailed design and code reviews, reviews system performance and consumption issues, reviews test plans, and provides technical guidance, developer training, and support to others, as well as implementation responsibilities. The Application Technical Architect defines and ensures adherence to architecture standards and ensures the proper technical design decisions are being made.
The job may require interfacing with other Application Technical Architects, Application Architects, and Delivery and account leadership to define and validate requirements, contribute to business case development, coordinate project schedules, budgets, request management and work authorization.
Responsibilities to include:
Work with Business Partners and Subject Matter Experts to develop BW Warehouse Solution
Learn and apply SAP knowledge in fast, sometimes unstructured environment
Design, code, component and assembly test new development, maintenance and enhancement requests
Understand and follow client development methodology and standards
Track performance and report progress against work package and team goals
Participate in process improvement efforts
Participate actively as a member of the team
Build strong relationships with the business partners
Minimum of 5 years of SAP BI /BW backend development experience, to include experience with BW 3.5 and beyond
Minimum of 2 years of experience with ETL
Minimum of 2 years of experience with data architecture (enterprise data modeling, database design, master data management)
Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
Minimum of 2 complete development life cycle BI projects, to include assessing capabilities and identifying high-level requirements
Hands on ABAP experience (specifically, experience with transform rules)
Defining and implementing metadata management structures and processes
End-user report development (from requirements gathering to design, build, test and deploy)
Functional knowledge of data structures within R/3 or ECC for multiple areas (in particular: MFG)
Experience with ECC extractors
BEx Query design experience
Structures/Calculated Key Figures
Experience with Security/Variables
BW Upgrade experience
Web Application Designer
Web Application Development
