Under general supervision, performs cutting operations utilizing automatic feed cold and band saws to print or work order lengths.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Pulls required materials from storage utilizing forklift and filling out material issue paperwork.
Perform Rockwell testing of material to assure material meets engineering specifications.
Record all testing and heat treat lot numbers on work order.
Identify remaining material that is useable and return to proper storage.
Follow shop safety standards.
Follow shop clean-up procedures

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A high school graduate or equivalent; with 6 to 8 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with a forklift is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
