Under general supervision, plans, organizes and participates in a wide variety of advanced professional and technical duties related to the monitoring and maintenance of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), telemetry, instrumentation, motor control centers, process control systems and numerous other types of electronic and electrical equipment and machinery associated with pumping and distribution of natural gas and oil.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Monitor SCADA data/work stations using associated equipment and maintain standard levels and parameters report and respond to any/all SCADA alarms and start required emergency procedures.

Monitor, respond and report all two-way radio traffic and notify appropriate personal.

Monitor and maintain GPS locators for company vehicle/field employees for emergency situations.

Monitor and maintain the security console including cameras and access control, issue badges.

Maintains, reviews, and records a variety of reports, including daily activity reports, work orders, work requests, monthly statistical reports, and other reports and records as required.

Trains and instructs other staff in the operation and maintenance and safe work practices concerning SCADA and related equipment.

Other duties assigned.

Conducts all business activities in accordance with SM Energy HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements and SM Energy Core Values.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
Two or more years, or the equivalent of full-time, on-the-job (hands on) SCADA and instrumentation experience, preferably in natural gas/oilfield, or other related fields.

High school diploma (GED) and some college or vocational training along with excellent computer skills required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be a self-starter.

Must be capable of handling the most complex and urgent duties without supervision.

Additional job-related education may be required to keep pace with updated technology and merit advancement.

Ability to perform tasks in the area of Health, Environmental Compliance and Safety.

Texas Driver’s License - Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver License, provide proof thereof and maintain a driving record acceptable to the company’s automobile insurance carrier.

Schedule: 7 days on/7 days off
