SCHOOL SAFETY AGENTS- NYPD

As a NYPD School Safety Agent, you will provide security and ensure a safe environment in NYC Public School buildings and surrounding premises by patrolling and operating scanning equipment, verifying identity and escorting visitors and by challenging unauthorized personnel and removing them from the premises.
To qualify you MUST meet the following qualification:
Possess a High School diploma or GED
Meet certain physical and medical requirements prior to appointment, including drug/alcohol screening and psychological assessment.
You MUST be eligible to obtain Special Patrolman status upon appointment and become certified as a Special Patrolman within 3 months of appointment. The certification must be maintained for the duration of employment in this title.
Candidates must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment.
Be a resident of New York City- (5 boroughs)
Pay $75 for Fingerprint investigation
Serve your community in a unique and rewarding way and earn a good salary with generous medical and retirement benefits. Salary Information for New Hire is $31,259 per year. After 1 year- $32,112 per year, after 2 years - $35,323 per year.
Applicants who successfully complete and pass all the appropriate exams will be assigned to the Police Academy for a 15 week training program.
Advancement opportunities exist both within the School Safety Agent title series and through promotion to non-civilian status as a Police Officer, if you meet the educational requirements.
