Janssen R&D is expanding its biologics capabilities. As part of this commitment, the Centyrex Venture was created to explore the use of alternative protein scaffolds in immunology, oncology and diagnostics. The successful candidate will join a team charged with establishing and utilizing technologies for the identification and characterization of scaffold proteins related to characterizing the binding of these molecules for target proteins. Applicants with a proven track record of experience with alternative scaffold or antibody fragment proteins, panning (yeast, phage or in vitro display) are most desirable. Experience with protein library design and construction is also desirable. Scientists are expected to continually augment the scientific and technical capabilities of Centyrex and advance the development of scaffold proteins.


A PhD degree is required with 0-5 years of industry and/or postdoc experience OR a Masters degree with at least 8 years of industry experience. The role requires a scientific degree in Protein Biophysics, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Chemistry or a related field. Experience in vitro panning (yeast, phage, and/or in vitro display), protein design, gene library construction, protein expression and protein purification is highly preferred. Experience in high-throughput methods for assay development and automation is desirable. The successful candidate must have a track record of problem solving, good organization and excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams. The role is located in Radnor PA, and will be moving to Spring House, PA by the end of the year.
