The SEC Accounting Manager primary responsibility will be implementing and maintaining internal control processes and procedures to be in compliance with SOX 404 as well as researching and documenting technical accounting issues, preparing and analyzing financial statements for preparation of the Company’s external financial statements. This position will be a key interface to other functional groups to develop and implement quarterly SOX 404 reporting procedures, contract review process, and corporate insurance management. This position will also assist in the preparation of quarterly financial filings, associated footnotes and other relevant information related to the Form 10-Q, annual Form 10K and other SEC filings as necessary.
B.S./B.A. in Accounting or Finance
Work with business partners, general accounting and external consultants to develop and implement policies & procedures to comply with SOX 404 requirements
Work with general accounting and functional managers, when necessary to maintain a structured quarter-end reporting process to ensure timely and accurate Investor reporting and SEC filings.
Evaluate and document internal control designs and operational effectiveness over financial close and reporting.
Work with legal to develop and maintain Stock Administration policy and procedures that is in compliance with SOX 404 and external reporting requirements
Quarterly ASC 718 (formerly FAS 123R) calculation
Work with HR, legal and outside administrator to ensure efficient and effective operating process over ESPP, stock option grants, issuances, notifications, and reporting, in compliance with corporate policies and SOX 404
Contract review, summarization and development of operational procedures related to accounting for contracts
Coordination with outside Investment advisors to administer treasury operations in compliance with investment policy
Oversee risk management
Work with outside consultants to complete corporate tax returns and quarterly provision
Work with outside consultants on tax planning and other tax projects (R&D tax credit, excise tax, manufacturing equipment credits, state tax exemptions, etc.)
Research technical accounting and document accounting positions as appropriate
Key contributor to the quarterly and annual SEC report filings
Assist in the preparation of AC and BOD presentations, Earnings release and other management projects as required
Knowledge & Expertise:
CPA with 5+ years of public and private industry experience with progressively responsible financial management role
2+ years in environment with SOX 404 compliance
SOX 404 implementation experience
Oracle experience a plus
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in the use of spreadsheet programs and other software applications for financial analysis and financial modeling
Ability to quickly acclimate to complex financial accounting applications.
Exceptional organizational and communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to various levels of an organization.
