This position is located in various locations throughout the Commander, Navy Installations Command ( CNIC) organization, Commander Navy Region Northwest. This position is located in the Visitor Control Center with the primary purpose to issue vehicle decals, civilian employee identification badges as well as visitor passes, contractor/vendor passes, and tradesman passes, and maintain vehicle registrations. Duties also include providing typing and clerical support.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.

Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

You must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

You must obtain and retain a motor vehicle driver's license.

DUTIES:
As a Security Clerk, your duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Issuing vehicle decals and identification badges to civilian personnel, visitors, contractors/vendors, and tradesman.
  • Updating databases to maintain vehicle registrations.
  • Utilizing various office automation equipment to create documents such as reports, spreadsheets or correspondence.
  • Providing administrative and clerical support.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Your resume must demonstrate at least o ne year of general experience equivalent to the next lower level (GS-03) in Federal service or equivalent public or private sector performing progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties this position. General experience includes duties such as maintaining files, answering phones, performing data entry, etc.

Education may be substituted for experience as follows:
2 years above high school

  • OR-
A combination of specialized experience and education that equates to one year.

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

A Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
