The Department of Emergency & Military Affairs (DEMA) is the headquarters for the Arizona National Guard. The Army National Guard is "Always Ready - Always There" providing military forces to accomplish community, State and Federal missions. The Air National Guard maintains excellence with flexible, sustainable, expeditionary and joint interoperable capabilities in all facets of current Federal and State missions. The Division of Emergency Management's mission is to coordinate emergency services and efforts to governmental agencies to reduce the impact of disaster on person and property. The Division of State Activities maintains the business operations of purchasing/contracting, legislative activities and the Project ChalleNGe program. SECURITY OFFICER I
PAY RATE: $14.7468/hour
This position is eligible for over-time compensation.
Evening Shift Differential additional 5% for hours worked
Overnight Shift Differential additional 10% for hours worked
WORK LOCATION: Bellemont, AZ - Camp Navajo

Position Description: At the direction of the shift supervisor, provide security services for Camp Navajo (CN). These services include entry control to the installation and the ammunition limited area; maintaining vehicle and personnel checks in accordance with current THREATCON level; provide foot and vehicle patrols of installation facilities, coordinate all systems at the Security Operations Center.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Desired Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE: Must be capable of learning and applying procedures for search and seizure. arrest, and use of force (including deadly force); Must possess a functional knowledge of personal computer operations in a network environment; Must demonstrate physical fitness capable of performing assigned duties; Must have the ability to develop a thorough understanding of a wide variety of security, fire, and environmental alarm systems and the actions appropriate in the event of their activation. SKILLS: Effectively and professionally interacts with installation personnel and civilians. In person and on the telephone; Communicates clearly and concisely in both oral and written form; Operate a two-way radio; Must demonstrate physical fitness capable of performing assigned duties. ABILITIES: Perform all Job duties and responsibilities in a safe and effective manner and not be a hazard to self or others; Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing; Read, understand, and comprehend complete written documents, policies, and procedures and interpret how those policies should be applied locally; Properly wear assigned uniform; Maintain confidence and composure in high stress situations; Effectively and professionally interact with others, internally and externally in person, through verbal means, and in writing; Safely operate vehicles to include security vehicles; Carry a firearm and apply various levels of force in compliance with policy.

Special Job Requirements: Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) Requires the ability to obtain and retain a valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card (see Arizona Revised Statute 26-103). Employment is contingent upon completion of a post-offer medical/physical examination and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Secret" security clearance.
