This position focuses on taking a lead in the performance of analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and maintenance of our software applications. This includes cutting edge Web and Mobile applications utilizing the latest technology as well as internal legacy applications. This position requires a strong sense of urgency as well as the ability to work effectively as an individual and in leading technical teams.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

Assist in defining and executing our technology roadmap and product roadmaps.

Collaborate with executives, sales, product managers, business analysts, developers, and architects in conceptualizing and development of new software applications and enhancements.

Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures; recommend technical improvements.

Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.

Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, estimating, scheduling, and implementation.

Research, identify, analyze, and fulfill requirements of all internal and external program users.

Actively lead the research of new technologies and trends benefiting future growth and advancement.

Acquisition & Deployment

Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.

Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues.

Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades.

Operational Management

Lead project teams that come in on time and at budget.

Liaise with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.

Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to known specifications.

Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.

Lead administering of critical analysis of test results and delivery of solutions to problem areas.

Generate statistics and write reports for management and/or team members on the status of the programming process.

Train end users to operate new or modified programs.

Install software products for end users as required.

Manage and/or provide guidance to junior team members.

Required Skills

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or software engineering, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.

Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including C#, VB.NET, JavaScript and jQuery.

Excellent understanding of coding methodologies and best practices.

Excellent understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and relational database practices.

Excellent understanding of ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC platforms.

Proficiency with Internet technologies, including CSS and HTML.

Prior experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.

In depth experience developing test cases and test plans.

Thorough understanding of the AGILE methodology.

Experience with NUnit, iOS, Android and Windows Phone 7 a plus.
