Performs technical and supervisory duties in an environmental data collection and monitoring activity.

Schedules and provides maintenance of existing and future access points, firelanes, trails, and park sites at all ELAPP preserves.
Provides on-going hiking/horseback/mountain bike/canoe trail maintenance.
Installs, removes and maintains preserve fences, gates and locks.
Plans and carries out exotic plant control activities.
Collaborates with law enforcement regarding trespasses, vandalism or other illegal activity on preserves.
Enters, compiles, and formats reports and data collected during preserve visits.
Writes prescribed burn plans and assists in the implementation of prescribed burns, including fire lane preparation and participation.
Assists with preserve restoration activities, particularly planting of native species.
Provides equipment maintenance and transport.
Coordinates with trail user groups and volunteers.
Performs others related duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of environmental inspection, sampling and collection methods.
Working knowledge of environmental data collection, recording, and laboratory equipment.
Skill in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Skill in the use and operation of environmental collection, recording, and laboratory equipment.
Ability to identify hazardous material.
Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
Ability to collect, organize, and evaluate data and to develop logical conclusions.
Ability to work effectively with others.
Note: Minimum Qualifications MUST be attained before the recruitment ending date.
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate; and
Three years of experience in land management such as invasive species control, prescribed fire, heavy equipment operation and species surveys; and
Possession of a valid Driver License.
Associate's or higher degree with a major in a Natural Science; and
Two years of experience in land management such as invasive species control, prescribed fire, heavy equipment operation and species surveys; and
Possession of a valid Driver License.
APPOINTING AUTHORITY REQUIRES
Employee to have or obtain a Class A CDL Driver's Licence.
OPEN AND CLOSED RECRUITMENTS : We are running concurrent Closed (Internal) and Open recruitments.
