The City of Fort Worth Equipment Services Department seeks a (Fuel Truck) Senior Equipment Operator, to maintain and operate various types of motorized equipment in performance of assigned job duties including the more complex and heavier equipment, such as mobile cranes, bulldozers and concrete mobile; to work in the safest manner possible to ensure the safety of crew members and the general public; to participate in the training and monitoring of lower-level workers; to perform the more complex work tasks related to job completion. Skills / Requirements
High School Diploma or GED with additional specialized training in motorized equipment operations PLUS three (3) years experience operating motorized equipment, including four months operating bobtail fuel trucks.

Must possess a valid Class A commercial drivers license (CDL), including HAZ-MAT endorsement at the time of application. Candidate must pass a DOT physical.

Prefer possession of, or ability to obtain, a Hazardous Material Operation/OSHA Level II Certificate in spill containment with in the first year of employment.

Candidate must successfully pass the Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) portion of the test before moving to the panel interview.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work flexible hours if called out on emergency fueling request from Fire Department for 3, 4, and 5 alarms, JEOC Emergency calls, special event weekend calls, or any other emergency Equipment Services Department deems necessary to support the Citys fleet.

This position will require the ability to maintain required fuel levels for the multiple fueling tanks and auxiliary generator locations throughout the City of Fort Worth, including, but limited to entering daily information into the City of Fort Worths computer fuel database. Inspect contents and ensure material is in compliance with federal and state regulations. Direct traffic at facility if required and maintain facility to ensure any spills are cleaned up as they occur. Operator must maintain equipment documentation on bobtail fuel truck and facilities per regulatory requirements. Maintain cleanliness on the bobtail fuel truck and at all City of Fort Worth fueling facilities required by TCEQ or any regulation mandate required for the dispensing of fuel. Maintain records as required by state regulatory agencies.
MISC. REQUIREMENTS: This position will work in outdoor environments; exposure to extremes in weather conditions; working with machinery, around moving vehicles/objects; work on ladders/scaffolds, on slippery or uneven surfaces; exposure to fuels, grease, oils, fumes from fuel and exhaust, vibrations, noise; some work in or with water; potential for physical fatigue.
