Job Description

Department Overview: Partners Revenue Finance is responsible for varied reporting and analytic activities for Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, McLean Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, North Shore Medical Center and Newton-Wellesley Hospital. These functions include modeling and recording of Net Patient Service Revenue to the entity financial statements, NPSR budgeting, Federal and State regulatory filings, audits and appeals and a variety of value-added revenue analytics. Working closely with local CFO’s, local budget offices, and corporate finance management, Revenue Finance staff provide technical expertise for all aspects of patient revenue issues. Job Function: In support of the Manager, provide primary analytics, schedules and supporting documentation to ensure net revenue reserve levels for the Community Hospitals’ financial statements and budgets are properly stated. Responsibilities and Specific Performance Standards In support of the NSMC Manager of Reimbursement and Revenue Analysis: · Performs & supports the calculation of contractual allowances for monthly financial statements.· Performs & supports development of the NPSR budget, quarterly forecasts and multiyear projections.· Analyzes and records the proper recording of settlements due to/from third parties; includes collaboration with reimbursement staff for government 3rd party estimates.· Work with other revenue finance staff to ensure all reserve balances are properly stated.· Reconcile TSI (Decision Support) NPSR to the financial statements.· Conduct payment studies throughout the year to ensure financial statements reflect the expected payment under contract terms.· Participate in the development of entity cash budgets.· Support local entity’s financial modeling initiatives.· Support year-end audits in areas of financial statement NPSR.· Provide analytical support to Partners and NSMC CFO as directed by Manager.· Participate in revenue-related projects as directed by Manager.


  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Business Administration with concentration in accounting or finance. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three to five years of hospital reimbursement/revenue experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and statistical skills are required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the interpretation of complex data.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access.
