A prominent investment solutions company based in Rochester, NY is searching for a candidate to join their team as a Senior Fund Accountant. This is a DIRECT HIRE/PERMANENT opportunity. This is an investment firm that deals with high net worth individuals.
Position: Senior Fund Accountant
Location: Rochester, NY
Hours: M-F (8am-5pm)
Pay: DOE (Very Competitive)
Monitor portfolio pricing including nightly fixed income pricing, daily NAV oversight, Fair Value Committee coordination, quarterly Board of Directors reporting, and monthly ASC 820 reporting
Become the lead contact for various operational items, including trades, corporate actions and cash items, as well as other items that impact the NAV of the funds and collectives
Provide daily support of the business relationships with areas such as fund services/transfer agency, custodian banks, trading, fund accounting
Understand and review various expense items, including budgets and other items that impact the NAV of the funds and collectives
Assist with the preparation/review of the quarterly dividends for the funds
Assist with new product set up, including various documentation and other items with service providers, expense budgets, etc.
Perform detailed reviews of financial statements, quarterly investment portfolios, performance calculations, internally distributed reports, and month end reconciliations
Monitor service provider performance including custodian, pricing, sub-accounting, sub-transfer agent, etc. including reviewing various SSAE 16 reports
Assist with the review of monthly performance calculation, as necessary
Provide feedback to Managers to assist in annual performance reviews of Staff
Train appropriate personnel where needed- Provide for professional and personal growth in employees careers
Work on special projects as requested by Manager
A background in Accounting / Finance with a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a strong record of academic achievement
Demonstrated experience and success with managing people
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated financial reporting, analytical and organizational skills
Proven ability to work in a challenging and professional work environment
College GPA of 3.0 or better and SAT Scores of 1120+ or ACT scores of 24 or better
