Public Relations Manager, DC office of large international law firm. Exciting opportunity for legal PR professional to works closely with CMO, Head of Communications, and key stakeholders to build the profile of the firm, its practice groups, and its partners. Collaborates on global media relations and profile-raising initiatives with the global public relations team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Build relationships with key reporter contacts - including fielding media inquiries and contacting

appropriate members of the firm, Recognize needs and suggest improvements where applicable to advance the US media relations program, Identify and pursue potential media opportunities, selecting appropriate media outlets for key departments, practice groups, offices

and partners, bBuild news feed from practices and offices to ensure key matters, people and other activities are

highlighted in the media

Work closely with marketing and business development managers, coordinators, and members of the

communications and media relations teams

Develop strong processes for and drafts submissions and nominations for various publications and

surveys

Required Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of public relations experience required. BA or BS in public relations, communications or related field is preferred; Masters degree a plusLaw firm experience required. PR agency and journalism background a plus
 Excellent written and oral communication skills
 Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion
 Takes a proactive approach to media relations, utilizing strategy, planning, and execution skills
 Proven sound judgment for media relations issues
 Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with
minimal supervision
 Effective interpersonal and team working skills
 Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
 Understanding of legal and business concepts or the ability to learn them quickly
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
