Provide support for complex research administration issues. Explain agency/Boston University requirements to PIs. Resolve or assist in the resolution of modification issues that may involve contacting funding agency. Correct budgets to meet the needs of programs. Transfer contract or grant to another institution upon transfer of researcher. Review specific terms and conditions to answer questions regarding expenses. Audit of subcontracts for appropriate allocation of funding. Address problems such as: researchers not submitting information in a timely fashion for proposal and submission deadline cannot be met, difficulty in obtaining award and modification funding through Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and delay in OSP issuing sub-awards.
Requires: B.A./B.S., Masters Degree preferred, strong communication skills, extensive knowledge of federal agency and non-federal grant regulations and systems, full knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Code for Federal Regulations, sponsor-specific policies, intellectual property policy, conflict of interest, publication rights, applicable indirect cost rates and other research administration, ability to manage high volumes and complex transactions, knowledge of award mechanisms such as grants, contracts, sub-awards, cooperative agreements, ability to interpret policy for others and five to eight years of experience.
