Participate in defining and implementing new product or enhancing current designs of software modules and components. Collect, interpret and document system requirements; lead and/or participate in component, subsystem and system concept design verifying key design parameters and evaluating design options; develop and recommends methods, tools and designs for software development process improvement or development cost reduction. Summarize and present details of designs, analytical methods and results. Lead and/or participate on multi-functional product research and development teams, product and/or system design reviews.
: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics plus 6 years of experience in the offered position (Senior Software Engineer) or related.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
: Experience developing domain-specific platforms. Experience in object oriented design using Unified Modeling Language and design patterns. Experience debugging software/hardware interface issues for customized hardware, including experience using tools such as Logic Analyzers, In-Circuit Emulators, and oscilloscopes. Experience creating Board Support Packages (BSP) in VxWorks for customized PowerPC boards. Experience developing and debugging device drivers in VxWorks and Windows. Experience developing firmware for resource-constrained Digital Signal Processors (DSPs).
Experience with distributed systems and concurrency design concepts. Experience in C++ and C.
