The Senior Systems Administrator has the responsibility to provide administration for critical business systems and servers, mentoring and training other staff members, and strategic direction for related applications, network, hardware and software. The right candidate must have strong verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills, and the ability to understand and apply business concepts. The position requires attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to maintain focus and engage others through projects and daily tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Mentor and interact with team members throughout the company to disseminate information about the database, applications, and system administration

Measure, evaluate, implement, troubleshoot, and diagnose system problems and offer solutions.

Manage and maintain all servers, operating systems, and enterprise application software in the production environment to meet current SLA objectives

Approve Security Configurations for routers and switches

Track vulnerabilities and monitor security patch levels and virus protection signatures

Answer questions relating to impact on operating systems, databases or applications

Work across multiple groups to identify and mitigate potential IT risk within the environment

Facilitate operational tasks relating to the production, including metrics and trending

Required Skills

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, Systems Administration preferable

A minimum of 6 years’ experience as a Senior Systems Administrator and/or business experience

Strong Cisco, HP knowledge required

Strong problem-solving capabilities, including consistent troubleshooting methodologies

Strong IT acumen and experience applying new technology to improve business processes

Possess strong technical and analytical skills to identify suspicious and malicious activity

CISSP or CISA certification is preferred

Available for 24x7 on-call support and monthly service weekend activity activities
