The role of the SEO copywriter is to collaborate on the development of keyword-driven solutions to increase search relevancy for macys.com. This person will have the responsibility of understanding the overall business, brand and search marketing objectives, and proactively contributing to its evolution and success.
Use web tools to identify keyword opportunities, ultimately increasing sales.
Develop keyword-rich writing and messaging skills relative to product descriptions, category pages and other interactive media.
Identify and implement high-volume keywords for product pages, cat pages and search pages.
Generate meta tags and alt texts for increased search relevancy.
Translate search marketing strategy into actionable copy recommendations.
Identify and implement additional opportunities for keyword optimization.
Maintain high standards for writing and proofreading.
Develop and implement processes, standards and guidelines for ongoing copy development, while demonstrating a fundamental understanding of the consumer/Internet user mindset.
Bachelor's Degree in English, journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, psychology, direct response or promotion (or comparable work experience).
2-3 years of copywriting experience in advertising, direct marketing, promotion or publishing, preferably with a background in retail.
1 year min experience of SEO content and online business writing is required.
Working knowledge of Macintosh and proficiency with Word and Excel.
Experience with database tools and knowledge of Internet technology.
Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
Aptitude to function within deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team.
