We are currently seeking talented SIU Investigator for our District of Columbia facility.
Provides specialized investigative and advisory services to Claims and Underwriting on questionable, suspect or fraudulent activity. Develops and delivers fraud awareness training throughout USA Works with law enforcement, fire and other related agencies to investigate potential fraud.
Reviews and evaluates claim and underwriting information to identify appropriate investigative strategies.
Conducts investigations of unusual, questionable or suspicious claim activity; and provides investigative reports to others.
Identifies regional fraud schemes and trends to develop proactive responses and communication.
Provides fraud awareness training, investigative expertise and mentorship to claims and underwriting.
Develops and maintains industry, law enforcement, and other external contacts involved in fraud investigation, detection and prevention.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree or 6 years equivalent experience in a related field.
5+ years P&C claims adjusting OR 3 years law enforcement, investigative experience.
Working knowledge in state laws and regulations pertaining to insurance fraud.
Computer literate in Windows operating environment.
Ability to meet all USAA safe driving requirements to include
verification of driving record through MVR and possession of valid driver's license.
This position services the Washington, DC or surrounding area.
Selected candidate must reside in the District of Columbia or surrounding areas.
5 years law enforcement experience and/or private investigator with P&C claim experience.
Investigative experience.
Ability to use public record systems and/or claims databases to support investigations.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex fraud cases and/or rings.
Ability to develop and present fraud related training programs.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage an active caseload.
Proficiency in establishing, documenting, and pursuing appropriate investigative strategies.
