Jacobs/TEIMS is seeking a Software Engineer to support the State of Florida Department of Children and Families, Child Care Training office in Tallahassee, FL. The Software Engineer's tasks will consist of making changes and adding enhancements to an existing application that manages Child Care Provider Inspection Reports for the State of Florida. Applicants must be capable of working with customer representative's to gather, analyze and process requirements for changes and additions to the system.
Education and Skills Requirements:
Proficiency in the following areas:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5 years specific experience in a software development environment.
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meetings and conferences. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, and notebooks.
Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
Must perform work activities requiring interaction, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others.
Must be able to work under supervision and respond appropriately and professionally to criticism from a supervisor.
Equipment and Machines:
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)
With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA and approved time off, attendance is considered essential.
Must be able to work within the shift hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Other Essential Functions:
Travel requirements - Work may require occasional to frequent travel.
