Description

The SQL Reporting Analyst’s role is to design and implement analytical operations reports and dashboards, including implementation and integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out solutions to end users. The SQL Reporting Analyst is also responsible for ensuring high levels of accuracy through in-depth testing.

General Responsibilities
• Design, code, test, and document all new or modified applications, and reports.
• Develop the semantic layer, metadata, reports, and report definitions.
• Develop graphs and portal interfaces.
• Design, implement, and maintain data and report models.
• Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses and data marts to ensure data interoperability. Analyze user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for user interfaces.
• Produce ETL solutions from design guidelines to support the organization’s data requirements.
• Conduct job duties and responsibilities according to the organization’s business systems development methodology and/or its Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology.
• Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary.
• Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant departments.
Position Requirements
• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering or minimum 3 years direct relevant work experience.
• Experience with MSSQL 2005/2008, SSAS, SSRS, Excel, Pivot Tools.
• Data warehouse analysis and design understanding, including data modeling.
• Understanding of MS SQL Server, Sequel Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services.
• Working knowledge of Visual C#, VB, .NET languages.
• Ability to analyze user requirements and build reporting applications according to specifications.
• Understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
• Understanding of ETL design, development, and implementation practices.
• Development life cycle understanding.
• Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques.
• Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Willingness to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Work Conditions

• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
