POSITION PURPOSE -
The THD COM QA Environments Developer will oversee and execute the application software and infrastructure operations activities required to manage the COM Testing environment setup and shakeout to satisfy integrated test requirements such that the test team (QA and Development team) is not impacted by environment defects (QA, Q1, Q2, ST, QP)

Roles and Responsibilities:
Ability to master knowledge of (1) COM BOM (all components including versions required to fully operate the COM solution, (2) COM integration points with external systems required for COM features/functions, (3) Data objects and values (internal and external) required for COM features/functions, (4) Shakeout execution tasks required to fully validate COM test readiness
Execute key operations: (1) Project Mgmt for environment setup, (2) Release control for all QA environments, (3) Periodic verifications/remediation to ensure data and software components functioning, (3) Tool development to facilitate COM shakeout and maintenance
Partner with Application Architects (role - own application landscapes highlighting integration points by system feature/function)
Partner with QA Environments team (role - own oversight of a core group that handles Network, MTE, mainframe, Tandem, store, app platforms, DAO, DB, EAI/ETL, and MQ configuration issues)
Partner with integrated Application team (role - own their code, data, and knowledge of external system requirements for features/functions)
Partner with QA Rail gatekeeper (role - coordinates which teams will test in the Rail - which rail, when, which application releases)
Partner with Data Modeling (role - master data and test data assistance)
Determines proper infrastructure maintenance procedures and schedule to ensure proper system health and operating capacity
Validates thoroughness of production support and infrastructure maintenance documents (knowledgebase) and ensures continual updates to reflect current support and maintenance procedures
Provides recommended approach and resource estimates required for addressing defects and minor enhancements
Ability to review proposed system changes to ensure they are supportable and maintainable
Participate in daily or weekly calls with THD and Vendor project team
Prepare regular status reports with metrics on support and maintenance activities and infrastructure capacity utilization
Documents defects and issues to be resolved and monitors/reports progress on resolutions; Escalate issues to THD when necessary
Responsible for timely completion and communication of root cause analysis for system support failures/issues
Ensures all Service Level Agreements are met

The Sr. Developer has the ability to lay out requirements for the project team. Ability to guide and direct work on multiple projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production. Thorough understanding of life cycle development through production implementation and post implementation. The Sr. Developer has the ability to present at the various architecture review boards. Display strategic view of applications and how they fit into the whole retail space.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.

Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.

Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.

Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.

Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
Java programming (webservices, j2ee) (required)
Unix scripting, SQL (required)
HTML5 development, JMS, Opsware, TWS experience (preferred)
Functional administration, infrastructure maintenance, and troubleshooting of THD QA environment integration issues (preferred)
Operational knowledge of Tomcat (required) and JBOSS (preferred) in relation to Java programming and infrastructure maintenance
Operational knowledge of Linux (RedHat), MQ, Informix DB, DB2, and Oracle Exadata in relation to Java programming (preferred)
Working with the Microsoft suite of applications (preferred)
