This position provides chief administrative support to the Executive Director of the Kentucky River Authority. Reviews contract progress on water supply, water quality and conservation programs, recommends to the Executive Director actions for improvement in goal achievement. Coordinates authority programs with Federal agencies and other state agencies for continuity in objectives and procedures. Manages administrative functions of the authority including budgeting, revenue collections, purchasing, accounts payable and financial reporting.
This position attends and represents the Executive Director, in his/her absence, Legislative committee meetings, executive staff meetings, public hearings, and program planning and work task with other governmental agencies. Coordinates program planning and work task assignment for other office staff in the absence of the Executive Director. Prepares financial and program accomplishment reports for the Legislature and the Governor; and performs other duties as assigned. Group : GENERAL ADMINISTRATION Characteristics of the Class : Serves as the chief administrative support position for a Cabinet Secretary, Commissioner or Executive Director in the analysis, formulation and administration of multi-divisional and/or intra-cabinet budgeting, policy planning and management policies with regard to programmatic areas assigned to that department or office; and performs other duties as required. Typical Working Conditions and Unique Physical Requirements : Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
