Coordinates the development, implementation, exercise and evaluation of the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) deployment plan for Dallas County. Provides technical assistance and consultative services for Dallas County cities and Metropolitan Medical Response Systems (MMRS) cities in plan development.

Detailed Description

Works with state and local public health planners to develop plans to ensure that every citizen of Dallas County has access to SNS in case of deployment. Interacts with divisions within DCHHS, to include various jurisdictions, Metropolitan Medical Response System Partners, State Emergency Management System and functional teams to ensure SNS coordination and integration of statewide, county and regional bioterrorism planning efforts. Coordinates with local governmental entities, communities and organizations in implementing regularly scheduled emergency response exercises relating to SNS deployment and evaluates and recommends improvements to ensure effective collaboration in case of a terrorism event. Develops and delivers training to regional entities, local staff and stakeholders regarding SNS planning methodologies and issues, and ensures involved parties understand their responsibilities; and stays abreast of current knowledge, skills and training. Performs other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Emergency Management, Health Care Administration, Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or job related field of study. Two (2) years of work related experience. Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Ability to make public presentations, provide training and handle crisis situations. Work experience in a public health or emergency preparedness setting preferred. Standard office environment. Must be on-call and be able to work after-hours. Requires travel for meetings and conferences.
