Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for working with Director and business unit management to develop and implement sourcing best practices and abiding by standards and procedures. This position is charged with identifying margin improvements, monitoring supplier performance and ensuring continuous improvement. As well as leveraging Dallas Airmotive’s buying power and increasing the sophistication of our supply chain and procurement practices.

Essential Functions


Compile and synthesize both business requirements and external market conditions to develop optimal commodity strategy with full understanding of potential shortfalls and mitigation plans.

Develops and compiles required Request for Information (RFI), Request for Quotation (RFQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) to facilitate development of sourcing strategy.

Develop category strategy recommendations in a concise and persuasive fashion and leads implementation of supply chain strategy (optimization, process enhancements, sole source or short-list negotiations, leverage added scope, competitive bidding, reverse auctions, etc.).

Conducts comprehensive supplier analysis (strategic direction, financial health/risk due diligence, market position, power within industry, capabilities and capacity, risk assessment).

Can apply various types of financial analyses to address challenges.

Can develop detailed analyses of financial statements and industry cost drivers.

Breaks paradigms to look at financial/analytical problems in new ways.

Has necessary business acumen to be thoroughly conversant in the intent and rationale behind contract provisions from a business as well as legal prospective, and acts as a liaison between the contracting parties, Dallas Airmotive legal, and management.

Lead and develop negotiation strategies, contract analyses, and sourcing communications and meetings.

Prepares written reports and presentations on contract administration activities for management within Dallas Airmotive.

Develop supply chain key metrics, score cards, and measurements.


Minimum of (5) plus years of supply chain experience, preferably in the in aviation industry.

Bachelor's degree (preferably in Finance, Procurement, Computer Science, Supply Chain) or other technical degree required.

CPM or Six Sigma credentials preferred.

Advanced expertise in MS office including but not limited to Excel (Pivots, Vlookup, Conditional Functions, etc.), Outlook, Word and PowerPoint are required. MS SQL preferred.

Advanced analytical and price structuring/modeling skills required.

Must have proven project management experience.

Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.

Strong supplier management/performance measurement monitoring experience.

Be knowledgeable of, and experienced in, application of Strategic Sourcing best practices.

Must have extensive knowledge and relationships with aerospace suppliers, materials and service providers.

Must be customer service oriented.

Required to travel up to 25%.

Must be a flexible team player with high energy.

Must have demonstrated ability in defining, developing, and implementing strategy, and programs.

Practices a high degree of professional integrity and ethical responsibility in all business activity.

Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally or in writing with presentations that are persuasive, and result in a positive impact on the business.

Maintenance of regular attendance and punctuality within customary tolerances.

  • Exerting up to (25-50) pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Work involves walking, sitting, driving or standing for brief periods of time.


: Near clarity of vision is required for close-up engine and chart/document analysis. QC Inspectors must pass a Jaeger vision chart test at no less than sixteen inches, or equivalent (20/30 vision) with one eye, either natural or corrected.
