Advise prospective and current students (with a focus on M.A. and Ph.D. students) on academic programs for Steinhardt's Department of Applied Psychology. Interpret applicable University policies and procedures and program requirements. Evaluate credentials of prospective MA students and make recommendations for admission; review and recommend revisions to policies regarding advisement and recruitment procedures for department. Refer students to appropriate faculty advisors. Plan and implement recruitment and orientation activities. Respond to inquiries concerning the School, department, and program offerings. Coordinate HDSI research conference.
Min. 3 years' relevant student advisement, recruitment, admissions, counseling at the indergraduate and graduate level, or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Excellent interpersonal, listening, public speaking, and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team. Ability to plan and deliver special events and seminars.
