The Student Athlete Recruiter serves as the primary liaison between admissions and the athletic department, aggressively recruiting prospective student athletes to North Park. This position will play a key role in the achievement of undergraduate enrollment objectives by strengthening the development of the prospect pool of CCIW-viable student athletes. This person must be energized and passionate about the value of athletics in the college experience and have an equally strong commitment to the mission and distinctives of North Park University. Essential Responsibilities: In consultation with Senior Director of Undergraduate Enrollment and Athletic Director, develop and implement annual recruitment plan to generate student athlete applications through school visits, college fairs, and other activities.Work with each athletic team to identify the student athletes that meet the coach†s criteria for participation in the team and pursue them as a student athlete for North Park University.Develop and implement process for early and consistent addition to the prospective student database of †coach initiated† student athlete prospects.Meet annual goals for assigned recruitment territory, based on enrollment and athletic department objectives. Establish, build, and maintain relationships with prospective student athletes and their families, providing them with accurate information through campus interviews, phone conversations, and email.Participate in admissions open houses and other on-campus recruitment events.Conduct campus interviews of prospective students as necessary in order to help them fulfill requirements for admission review.Meet weekly phone contact expectations established by supervisor, including making and receiving calls while away from the office, day or night and weekends as needed.Submit regular call, travel, and other reports as determined by supervisor.Enter comments/information in regards to contact with prospective student in the database in a timely fashion (normally immediately, or within 24 hours of contact).Involve faculty and others on campus in recruiting individual students as appropriate.Become conversant with all NPU programs, and knowledgeable about institutional financial aid policy and able to discuss with prospective students and their families.Attend admission staff meetings and develop collegial relationships with other staff. Attend athletic department staff meetings and develop strong collegial relationships with coaches and other athletic department personnel.Participate in staff training and development programs.Work †early† and †late† schedules as assigned by director (i.e., three days per week 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., two days per week 11:00 † 7:30 p.m., etc.).Work evenings and weekends for special events, and recurring Saturday office rotation.Lead, participate in and contribute to work teams as assigned.
