Role Purpose
The Senior Vice President Labor Relations is responsible for all NBC Universal Labor Relations policies and strategies and the supervision and direction of their implementation. The Senior Vice President Labor Relations will report to the General Counsel, will be located in NY and will manage a team of 15 employees.
Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for all aspects of NBC Universal Labor Relations
Act as chief company spokesperson and negotiation team leader in major labor negotiations
Work with the heads of the Company's operating units, set the strategic labor policy objectives for the Company over the medium-and long-term, particularly in light of changing technology
Develop strong, constructive working relationships with the unions representing the Company's employees
Advise members of senior management on labor relations and labor law issues
Establish company position regarding litigation and/or settlement of company labor disputes
Supervise the implementation of NBC Universal labor policies and strategies in connection with all collective bargaining negotiations, contract administration, grievances and litigation
Represent NBC Universal in labor- related contacts with representatives of other companies, governmental authorities and the press
Experience working on NLRB Matters Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree
Law degree
Minimum of 18 years experience practicing labor and employment law
Minimum of 18 years experience with entertainment industry labor unions and labor relations
Minimum of 18 years extensive experience as chief spokesperson in labor negotiations
Experience in non-represented environments
Experience drafting and negotiating personal services contracts
