Perform a broad range of responsible and complex computer systems administration duties in the implementation and maintenance of management information systems; provide technical support for a combination of desktop, server and network hardware, software and peripheral equipment; upgrade existing hardware and software, to correct reported hardware and/or software problems and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. This is the advanced journey level class in the Systems Administrator series. The level of responsibility assumed and the complexity of duties assigned distinguish positions at this level. Employees at this level are required to perform the duties of the System Administrator I, plus develop and/or customize multi-user, server-based application software systems, and to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned area of responsibility.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, computer science or a related field, plus four (4) years experience in PC installation and maintenance, server administration, applications design, development and maintenance, vendor software analysis and installation and troubleshooting and repair of servers, PCs and associated equipment and software. Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
