Administer local area network, server, and tie to NYU servers; troubleshoot, provide end-user support and training; research software availability and enhancements, recommend purchase of hardware; supervise computer operations, database, web site and intranet development; train staff in procedures and use of hardware and software. Assist with surveys and statistical reports. Serve as liaison with Central Information Technology Services (ITS). Supervise maintenance of office's web site, respond to and refer inquiries. Train and supervise computer support staff.
Bachelors' degree and
Training in Computer Network Management.
3 years' relevant experience or equivalent combination. Must include experience with LAN systems administration, hardware/software installation, desktop support, and providing technical training.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Working knowledge of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 administration. Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (include unique competencies, certification, licenses, etc.):
Certification in network management. Some knowledge of Mac and Linux OS preferred.
