The common thread of our systems technology is the design, development, and manufacture of secure and highly reliable microprocessor/PC-based control and information handling systems.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer at our affiliate company, General Atomics Electronic Systems. This position is responsible for resolving a wide range of advanced technical issues in Systems Engineering. The candidate will evaluate, interpret and resolve complex systems engineering problems to meet the customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops innovative but practical solutions to advance technical problems in engineering.
  • Generates plan and procedures for systems qualification testing, as well as factory acceptance testing, utilizing engineering and scientific principles.
  • Participates in the internal and external technical project/program reviews including preliminary and critical/detailed design reviews to ensure they meet defined product requirements.
  • Troubleshoots conflicting design/development requirements, difficult coordination requirements, and special material requirements.
  • Addresses complex and difficult technical issues in radiation monitoring systems or nuclear reactor systems, drawing from advanced engineering concepts and/or highly creative approaches.
  • Works on Nuclear Reactor Instrumentation equipment design.
  • Provides focal point for technical communication within the Company management and may represent the Company as the prime technical contact to customers and/or government regulatory agencies.
  • Presents report(s) at engineering meetings, participates in program reviews and consults on problems.
  • Works on Nuclear Reactor Instrumentation equipment design.
  • Prepares and reviews documented design inputs for electrical and mechanical design, as well as calculations required to support design of reactor instrumentation equipment.
  • Reviews requirement matrix and/or statement of work to generate basis of estimates in support of customer proposals.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.
