Facilitates the investigation of employee injury, motor vehicle, property damage, and near miss incidents. Communicates findings with District Manager, Regional Operations Manager, and Corporate Manager of Safety & Training
Establishes contact with local physicians, clinics, and insurance adjusters in various districts to monitor injured employees.
Prepares and presents monthly safety meetings when requested covering subjects which may include Job Hazard Analysis, Recognizing Unsafe Acts, Environmental Assessments, and discussion of incoming Safety Alerts.
Conducts routine documented audits of all work sites and equipment to ensure compliance with company safety policies, and provides on-site hazards assessment with coordinated corrective action if necessary
Participates in and facilitates district compliance with Job Observation program
Facilitates employee training logs and training needs relative to: New Employee Orientation, First Aid CPR, Defensive Driving, Hydrogen Sulfide, HAZCOM, Confined Space, Fire Fighting, Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Evacuation Safety.
Establishes and maintains working relationships with Emergency Response groups, such as clinics, within the job site area to ensure efficient response in case of emergency Job Requirements
College degree preferred or three years related experience
Certified as OSHA 500 and 501 Instructor, First Aid/CPR Instructor, Smith System Instructor
Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, especially in oral communication with the work force, management, and emergency response personnel
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to work alone with minimal supervision
Ability to recognize job associated work hazards and recommend corrective solutions
Ability to effectively teach safety related subjects
Ability to accurately prepare reports and maintain critical statistical data
Ability to maintain company confidentiality
Ability to respond and assess varying types of emergencies & react appropriately
