DESCRIPTION

This position coordinates the safety orientations, training, maintains programs for assuring safe practices within the business and meeting OSHA requirements. The position monitors safety violations, accidents, injuries and meets with employees with OSHA reportables that result in light duty work. They are assisting supervisors and managers with safety protocol within their departments acting as the safety leader within the organization. In addition they are working with HR and Operations in tasks as requested related to maintaining SOP's.

  • Excellent MS Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) skills.
  • Ability to lead others and teach them about Safety.

  • HS diploma required
  • 2 years' experience in the administrative assistant role desirable.
  • AAS or BAS degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or
  • 5 years general industry Safety experience.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Provide safety orientation to all new employees.
  • Present all warehouse and production employees with monthly safety trainings.
  • Present all administrative employees with quarterly safety trainings.
  • Train all GloryBee employees on Safety in Motion principles.
  • Train all GloryBee employees on SOC (Safety Observation and Coaching) principles.
  • Track all employee Safety trainings.
  • Maintain all safety training and materials
  • Organize OSHA-SHARP program initiatives (perpetual).
  • Track all accidents and incidents via Global Recordkeeping spreadsheet.
  • Investigate all accidents and incidents that are reported.
oUse Causal Factors analysis and Root Cause analysis.
oProvide corrective action and follow-through.
  • Track all submitted Hazard Notification forms that are reported.
  • Respond to Hazard Notification form inquiries.
  • Prepare written safety policy violations and warnings.
  • Recommend corrective action for safety violations and warnings, as needed.
  • Conduct weekly Safety walkthrough of all local facilities.
  • Coordinate all employee equipment trainings. I.e. material handling equipment
  • Conduct employee equipment trainings (classroom and physical).
  • Organize and maintain "Train the Trainer" program for equipment training
  • Train GloryBee leadership in relation to all Safety policies and best practices.
  • Maintain GloryBee First Responder program (organize CPR/First Aid/AED trainings and conduct Bloodborne Pathogens trainings as needed).
  • Review/update existing and new safety programs (annually).
  • Research, create and implement new company safety programs.
  • Ensure that all OSHA-required safety programs are updated annually and communicated as needed.
  • Meet with OSHA as needed.
  • Follow-up with OSHA after an inspection, as needed.
  • Follow-up with Operations and Executive teams after an inspection.
  • Meet with Fire Marshall as needed and when an inspection occurs.
  • Follow-up with Fire Marshal after an inspection, as needed.
  • Organize and execute company-wide emergency evacuations and drills.
  • Attend safety seminars, workshops and trainings.
  • Organize and attend monthly Safety Committee meetings at GloryBee.
  • Organize quarterly safety inspections with Safety Committee.
  • Maintain Safety Committee program and annual calendar.
  • Organize and attend meetings with department leaders:
oMonthly: Warehouse, Production, Distribution leaders
oQuarterly: Administrative leaders
  • Meet with Workers' Comp insurance provider/broker (as needed).
  • Act in accordance with GloryBee safety mission statement in all safety tasks.
  • Prepare maintenance request forms for Safety related issues, as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisors and Maintenance regarding any pending maintenance requests, as needed.
  • Create all safety SOPs.
  • Review all safety SOPs annually, update as needed.
  • Train all affected employees on applicable Safety SOPs.
  • Create and distribute monthly Safety 360 report.
  • Create and distribute quarterly departmental assessments for warehouse, production and distribution departments.
  • Submit safety information to company newsletter publication (as requested).
  • Maintain annual Microsoft Outlook calendar.
  • Meet with supervisor on a weekly basis regarding current issues.
  • Meet with supervisor on a monthly basis regarding strategic issues.
  • Order/purchase all Safety related equipment.
  • Purchase equipment for injury workers (return to work program) Based on requests from the HR Manager.
  • Maintain annual safety expenditures and budget information.
  • Organize annual safety celebration events:
oSafety Week (in October)
oSpring Safety (in March or April)
oProvide employee recognition
oCreate and deliver various employee safety awards.
  • Prepare an annual company-wide Safety report for Operations.
oInclude Executive summary.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 and 300a logs.
  • Escort employee(s) to ER, Urgent Care and/or Cascade Occupational, as needed.
  • Maintain and update all company SOP's on the GBF drive.
  • Create and send out a weekly SOP Update Report for GloryBee leadership
  • Help with all HR department as needed with projects and events.
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Run company errands as requested.
