Key functions of the position are: Ensure compliance to all relevant regulatory requirementsCoaching and auditing of the safety programAssist in the development and delivery of emergency response, fire and rescue training plansIncident command in times of crisisSafety-related supervisor and employee trainingMaintenance of safety equipment, fire hall and response trailersSupervise and provide mentorship/leadership to safety techniciansFacilitate inspections, internal audits and incident investigationsPromote a good working relationship with other groups and departmentsEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONSRequirements of the position: Diploma in occupational health and safety, or relevant technologyFive to eight years of relevant work experienceExperience in emergency response training development and deliveryEquivalent combination of education and work experience consideredBackground in surface emergency responseExcellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills with the ability to work in a team environmentWork a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraftAssets: Canadian registered safety professional (CRSP) or equivalent designationAdvanced first aid certificateThe Key Lake operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.Safety is a top priority at Cameco.
