The Safety Specialist is responsible for laboratory compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. He/she is also responsible for the management of the University's Chemical and Hazardous Waste programs.
Bachelor's degree in science (such as bio-science or chemistry), engineering, industrial hygiene, or safety or another closely related field.
May substitute additional related experience, above and beyond what is required, on an equivalent year for year basis in lieu of the degree requirement.
Related experience in a university, industrial, or federal laboratory setting.
Education may not be substituted for the experience requirement.
