YOUR ASSIGNMENT Your main tasks will include: Work with the Safety & Security Manager to establish Safety & Security Business Plan (Safety Action Plan) in line with Group Risk Manual, Safety/Security Operations Manual, US Safety Manual, Crisis Manual, and US Risk Management/Safety requirements and guidelines. Ensure compliance with IKEA Risk Management standards (Group Risk Manual, Safety/Security Operations Manual, US Safety Manual, Crisis Manual) on a consistent basis via a regular series of audits, follow-up, education & training, and reports. Initiate and monitor internal and external incidents and provide rapid response, investigation and reporting of all emergencies Document all incidents that relate to potential liability for IKEA Ensure the proper application of the risk management policies and comply with federal, state and local laws/regulations Work closely with outside agencies (police, fire departments, fraud agencies, insurance companies, attorneys) as required Partner with managers to influence and support overall positive working environment to include actions to secure a safe working environment Establish strong partnerships with matrix organizations to achieve the location’s business goals Lead and develop the local Safety & Security Team Attract, develop, and inspire Co-workers through the Human Resources Idea Establish, implement, review and update plans to secure ongoing development of competence and succession within your function and location Work in partnership with the Safety & Security Manager, Operations Manager, Human Resources Manager and Store Manager regarding sensitive issues, including but not limited to harassment, co-worker misconduct, information security and lawsuits Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as assigned YOUR PROFILE Your knowledge, skills and experience include: Knowledge/Experience: At least 2-years IKEA Safety & Security Coworker experience including internal training programs, or at least 2 years of retail Safety & Security experience Knowledge of Investigation methodology and Disaster Response Knowledge of security monitoring and/or alarm systems (fire, burglar) and CCTV camera and DVR equipment Knowledge of apprehension, interviewing, and interrogation methods Computer aptitude – previous experience with Microsoft applications and/or incident tracking systems Proven leadership abilities Certifications preferred in: First Aid/CPR/AED. Capabilities/Motivation: Strong desire to ensure a safe and secure environment for co-workers and visitors Good interpersonal, communications, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Good decision-making skills with the ability to influence and act Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to establish trustful relationships and commitments with coworkers across all levels of the organization Strong attention to detail Eagerness and desire to understand the IKEA business and customer needs and influence improvement of the business Ability to share your knowledge and learning and collaborate with others while acting as a cultural ambassador Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of co-workers and customers Interest in Home Furnishings Additional Information Work Location: Fast-paced, deadline driven, high volume retail store, service office, or distribution center Physical/Mental Demands (Essential Functions): Ability to access and observe all areas of the property. Required to climb ladders, enter restricted areas and potentially hazardous situations, and work in inclement weather conditions. Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities/deadlines and moderate stress. Standing for most of the shift. Ability to communicate with co-workers and manage conflict.
