POSITION PROFILE

We’re looking for an individual to support the sales and catering efforts of the hotel by performing administrative duties relating to sales and catering. In addition to administrative duties, this person will assist the Director of Sales and the Catering Sales Manager in maintaining existing business clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for the guests.

You must be willing and available to work different shifts, days, and holidays as the schedule will flex to best fit our guests’ needs. This is a full time position with benefits to include, medical, dental, vision, life, 401K, gas stipend, and complimentary hotel accommodations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to be well organized, maintain concentration, and think clearly while providing service.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
  • Computer skills including, Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, and outlook
  • High school graduate
  • Desirable:

  • College degree
  • One to two years previous hotel and food and beverage experience, preferably in sales, catering or front office
  • Fluency in a foreign language, preferably Spanish or French.
  • Knowledge of P.O.S. and PMS systems, preferably Micros and Opera
