The CITYTECH Sales Account Representative position will focus on growing sales through our Red Hat partner channel. Red Hat, our partner, is the industry leader for Linux operating systems, JBoss Middleware, as well as virtualization and cloud product offering. This position will include prospecting (cold/warm/hot leads), presenting and negotiating proposals, meeting with C-level executives, and developing presentations. The ideal candidate will be an organized and responsible self-starter with excellent people and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and also within a team.

The CITYTECH Sales Account Representative will identify, nurture and close opportunities with both new and existing clients, manage forecasts on a quarterly basis, and track client data. He/She will be responsible for driving company revenue through developing strong relationships with clients and within our Red Hat Partner Channel. Through the sale of Red Hat solutions, they will also uncover additional opportunities for CITYTECH service-related engagements. Internal training and development will be offered to maintain the highest knowledge and proficiency in Red Hat and CITYTECH offerings and industry trends.

This position will be located in Texas (preferably Dallas, TX)

  • Meet or exceed assigned quarterly and annual revenue quotas by acquiring new customer accounts and renewing and growing existing accounts
  • Responsible for selling complete Red Hat solution and CITYTECH services within the assigned sales region
  • Sell the Red Hat value proposition to prospective customers within a highly competitive market
  • Make cold, warm, and hot lead calls with timely follow-up and excellent communication throughout sales cycle
  • Manage forecasts, close deals, and track customer data using company CRM tools
  • Expand current sales and technical knowledge of Red Hat products and solution offerings; maintain Red Hat certifications
  • Call on prospective customers, providing technical and administrative product information, demonstrations, and price quotes
  • Understand the customer's business and technology product requirements
  • Develop effective relationships with key decision makers
  • Be a part of a dynamic, fast paced and growing sales environment where everyone makes an impact.
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in business administration, marketing or a technical discipline is required
  • 2+ years of successful quota-carrying sales experience
  • 2+ years of solution sales experience in software or high-tech products and/or services
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and required
  • Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows and Application Server marketplaces
  • Industry familiarity of open source principles desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English required
  • Able and willing to travel up to 30% within the South Central sales region
