                      Industrial Sales Trainee - Summer 2013

                      Position Objective:

                      Cargill Metals has an exciting opportunity in entry-level sales. In this role, an individual must have a strong desire to develop and hone the basic skills required to be successful in a current and future sales role. Successful employees who progress within the job will be required to relocate throughout their sales career. Typical skills and experience developed include value based selling, negotiations, relationship building, time and account management skills, etc. The individual will provide distinctive value to our customers through a comprehensive understanding of our offerings and how they can be best applied to meet our customers’ needs.

                      Cargill Metals processes and sells flat-rolled steel for further distribution and a wide variety of manufacturing applications. We operate steel-processing service centers located in Houston, TX; Tulsa, OK; Granite City, IL; Loudon and Nashville, TN; Panama City, FL; East Chicago, IN; and Fort Collins, CO.

                      Principal Accountabilities:

                      Develop extensive knowledge of customer needs and link our steel processing, product delivery and sales service to create customer solutions that distinguish Cargill Metals from our competitors.
                      Collaborate with co-workers involved in plant operations, delivery, and sales administration to deliver customer-solutions service effectively.
                      Achieve sales targets by managing assigned territory that requires frequent direct contact with prospective and existing customers to ensure we deliver against commitment.
                      Pursue personal development on general sales and product knowledge development.
                      Plan, organize and promote sales activities that support both your assigned customer base and Cargill Metals strategy as a whole.
