Cargill's meat business, headquartered in Wichita, KS, is comprised of beef, pork, and turkey, value added meats; case ready, distribution and feeder operations. Cargill's meat businesses employ approximately 35,000 worldwide with processing facilities and sales offices in the US, Canada, Australia, China, Honduras, Japan, Korea and Taiwan.

Cargill’s Sales organization is comprised of national, regional, distributive and geographic teams who collaborate to satisfy the needs of our customers across North America.

The goal of our energetic sales professionals is to deliver distinctive value by creating customer solutions to strategic markets.

As a confident new member of our sales team, you would enter as a Sales Associate and spend most of your time building your knowledge and confidence to support your team.

In time you will be working with customers as you distribute, sell, promote, and merchandise the meat business products.

You also will be responsible for executing company promotion, meeting inventory needs and monitoring the competitive activity within the region.

We expect our sales professionals to come to the organization with a broad based business perspective so that they have the foundation to understand the various aspects of our business.

Newly hired sales associates can expect to be partnered with senior sales professionals to facilitate that understanding of our business as well as spend time in our production facilities.

In addition, our training and development department will provide a full range of training courses to help you develop your sales, leadership, and business skills.

As a new hire you will spend time in an intensive and demanding training program at a number of our plant facilities or corporate headquarters.

The training programs vary by business unit and are

designed to help new hires gain a broad perspective of the industry and core business functions that essential to Cargill Animal Protein.


Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Ag Business, Ag Econ, Ag Communications, Business Admin or related fields with a GPA for 3.0 or higher

Previous relevant work history

Ability to multi-task

Ability to work with employees at all levels of the business internally as well as externally with customers

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

General Microsoft computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Open to Relocation

Highly motivated self starters

Demonstrated leadership abilities

Right to work in US that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer
