Brief Description of Role:
optionsXpress Sales Consultants work with prospects and clients to broaden and grow the stock, options and futures client base.Â Consultants focus on driving new business by making proactive outbound calls from marketing lists, handling inbound marketing calls, following up on referrals from branch and service center partners.Â Consultants actively follow up with clients through the entire sales process.
Good knowledge of products, platforms, and broader spectrum of competitive offerings are an essential ingredient to success.Â Proven sales track record in the financial services industry is a must.Â Candidate must be able to have engaged needs based conversations with clients/prospects, related to options/futures trading, and provide value oriented solutions.Â They also must be able to recognize the broader needs of traders and partner with other business segments to gain a trader's whole financial services relationship.
Team members will also be called upon to attend live education events/ national trade shows to provide demonstrations and educate clients on trading technology and the options markets.
Interested parties must be self-motivated, adaptable to quick changes from inbound to outbound focus, and have the ability to build relationships across various Schwab groups.Â Â Candidate will be accountable; goal oriented, and delivers outstanding personal sales results.Â Success will be measure by new engaged clients brought to the firm.
Technical/Functional Qualifications:The qualifications for this position include:
5-7 years financial services industry experience
3+ years prior selling experience in financial services/products area
Must have demonstrated success in pro-active outbound calling sales environment with ability to adapt to changing business needs
Demonstrated expertise in driving needs based client interactions which yield business results
Competitive and results oriented
Current Series 7 & 63 licenses
NFA Series 3/34 Licenses (Futures/Forex) or ability to obtain within 120 days
Must possess advanced knowledge of derivatives (options, futures, forex) markets, trading mechanics, and strategiesÂ (advanced multi-leg, hedging, etc)
Ability to identify and manage risk in the account open process
Proficiency in coordinating and partnering with internal business units to drive results
Strong foundational knowledge of Black- Scholes options pricing model and Option Greeks
Solid knowledge of Portfolio Margining techniques and benefits
Candidates must have working knowledge of broader financial services industry and its products and practices
Self motivated with good organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Polished face to face presentation skills.Â
Candidates will be called upon to travel to support client events
Good working knowledge of technical analysis, advanced trading strategies, and active trader products/services/software
Strong sales aptitude with proven productivity track record and history of success
Intermediate level proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
