The Sales Director will sell BLOUIN ARTINFO products to cultural institutions in the prime territory of New York. Knowledge or experience in the NYC art market is preferred. The Sales Director will be responsible for identifying and closing new business, meeting a sales quota, and managing an existing account base.
Prospects include galleries, museums, fairs, theaters, film, and any other cultural organizations.
The Sales Director will gain knowledge of prospective and existing clients' business goals and sell BLOUIN ARTINFO as a solution to achieve those goals. BLOUIN ARTINFO products include Online Banner Advertising, Auction Database Ads, Virtual Sites, Newsletter and Editorial Sponsorships, Social Media and Custom Email campaigns, and more.
The Sales Director will work closely with the Senior Vice President of BLOUIN ARTINFO to help create sales presentations t be utilized by the international sales team. The Sales Director will liaise with the international sales reps to assist them with sales proposals, as well with the SVP to conduct sales training.
The Sales Director will work with Client Services and Ad Operations teams to create and execute ad campaigns successfully, and report results to clients, internally to the SVP, and upper management.
The Sales Director will be motivated, with a proven sales track record, organized, and a good communicator. They will be a quick learner, a team player with a positive attitude, and be able to work independently as well as with other departments.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• At least 3 years sales experience in the fine art, design or antiques markets, preferably in New York City
• Track record meeting or exceeding sales quotas
• Advertising sales experience preferred
• Online sales experience a plus
• Strategic sales approach with a focus on building relationships with top tier clients
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
• 4 year college degree required; M.A. in Visual Arts Management a plus
• Experience with Excel, and database management
• Must be customer focused and demonstrate solid communications, networking and negotiating skills
Compensation includes base monthly fee plus commission, commensurate with experience.
