Sales Engineers are responsible for providing pre-sales technical assistance to the sales team. They also regularly perform technical presentations & demonstrations of the Sencha product line, and are involved in all aspects of the technical sale. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. They must be able to identify all technical issues of sales prospects in order to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. They also have the key responsibility of recognizing when the requirements of a prospect are not a technical match, and to be able to apprise the sales team and the prospect with equal skill and professionalism.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly responsible for teaming with sales through all aspects of the sales cycle.
Provide strategic and senior level product presentations, demonstrations and trade show support.
Take ownership and responsibility for technical activities in assigned accounts and lead in defining the "technical" sales strategy for complex opportunities.
Follow up on accounts for functional/technical issues related to sales cycle and guarantee a successful customer experience.
Provide product management team with customer and market feedback.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in computer science/technology or equivalent related experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience and proven success in software technical sales role.
Experience with FLEX and Actionscript a plus.
Must have demonstrated experience in at least ONE of the following technologies: Java, .NET, PHP, ColdFusion.
Must be able to understand, articulate, and code a JSON services layer in one of the above server side technologies.
Experience with Smart Phones OS’s: iPhone, Android, WebOS, Windows Mobile, and Blackberry.
Must be familiar with the XCode environment and be able to compile and run an XCode project. Must also be familiar with the Android development process and environment.
Must have demonstrated Web 1.0 Request / Response development and deployment experience.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Strong knowledge of modern Rich Internet Application frameworks in general.
Must have a demonstrated understanding of the asynchronous web world and the challenges it presents, particularly as it relates to the mobile environment.
Must be able to understand and articulate the challenges in the Enterprise world and demonstrate and understanding of how they can be addressed and solved particularly with regard to the Sencha toolset.
Strong knowledge of Integrated Development Environments and the integral role they play in the development process in general and in the Enterprise in particular.
Excellent presentation skills with the ability to discuss technical details, as well as presenting to C-level audience.
Strong communication skills with good listening capability, addressing competitive questions and handling objections.
Resourcefulness and creativity to understand complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
Team player with interpersonal skills to work with sales and technical staff in a dynamic and innovative company environment.
