We’re looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team. There will typically 6 to 10 Sales Reps on the team, a Sales Director, a GM, and an Ops Director who will be working with the Sales Engineer on a daily basis.

We’re searching for someone to provide a positive team environment where Sales Reps can learn and develop through information sharing, training, and encouragement. We want someone who can get the customer the think differently, so that we can get to the core of their business issues – and ultimately approach a solution that is more comprehensive to their business.

Someone who’s comfortable in front of all audiences and has a technical awareness around routing and switching protocols

Familiarity with Enterprise Application Network Requirements.

Familiarity with Converged technologies.

Design innovative network designs and drawings which illustrate the design

Create conceptual and technical Visio diagrams outlining the customer’s network and its benefit to them.

Conduct monthly trainings for Sales Reps and encourage role play environments for everyone, including the Sales Engineer(s), to learn together.

Investigate current business applications running across the network and developing partnerships with Sales Engineers of those applications.

Discover and qualify prospective and current customer's business needs – then design network solutions that leverage tw telecom's network offerings and "on-net" assets.

Be a strong communicator through verbal and written expression, and typically through Visio, PowerPoint, and text. (Visio’s are requested daily as well as preparing for and attending 5-7 customer facing appointments per week.)

Deliver seminar presentations (1 per quarter) to help in-market awareness.

Complete technical assurance information for data and internet circuits, as well as converged and voice at times.

Required Skills

What We’re Looking For…

We’re looking for a solid leader with great communication skills.

Someone with a Sales Engineer’s technical awareness around routing and switching protocols, etc. who can have a converged design conversation with the best of them.

Someone who is well liked with a credible reputation which precedes them.

Someone who is comfortable creating solutions in the enterprise application space.

1 year Sales Engineering experience required

3 years’ experience in at least one of these roles is highly preferred:

Sales Engineer in Telecom

Sales Engineering in a data vendor environment

Network Engineering or Architect experience supporting data networks in an end-user environment

Experience creating and/or delivering technical presentations and/or training is required.

2 years’ experience with communications networks, design implementation or technical support is required

3 years’ experience with Voice and Data solutions design is highly preferred

Certifications: Industry related certifications highly preferred. (i.e. CCNA, CCDA, JNCIA, etc.)
