The Sales Engineer is responsible for the planning and execution of Retailer and Business Partner payment projects. This individual is responsible for total customer satisfaction with the Equinox Payments experience from the beginning of the deployment project to completion with on-going follow-up. The Sales Engineer receives assignments in the form of objectives and timeframes. Once these objectives are received, the Sales Engineer determines how to best manage the Company resources to meet schedules and goals.

This position requires a hands-on individual who is responsible for managing the day to day activities of four Sales Engineers. This position is also responsible for a role of a Sales Engineer for a number of customers/prospects at the same time. The Sales Engineer Manager will report directly to the VP of Retail Systems and work clsoely with both the VP of Product Managmenet and the VP of Application Development. The role requires setting the product and application priorities.

Candidates must have current management experience and proven knowledge of project management aspects and techniques including project creation, maintenance, resource management, strategic planning and risk and issue management and mitigation.
Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the the team of System Engineers.

Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.

Define and administer schedules, project tasks and resource requirements.

Develop full scale project schedules and deliver on time.

Assemble and coordinate the necessary Equinox Payments support.

Identify and mitigate project risks.

Track project deliverables using Microsoft Project and Clarity.

Provide direction and lead a cooperative effort among members of the team.

Constantly monitor and report on progress and results of the project.

Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project.

Provide product support and assistance with all related issues including resolution of software and hardware problems.

Provide sales support making customer calls and conferences with sales.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales engineering management and support, preferably executing POS and payment projects with large retailers and business partners.

Excellent planning, organization and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage several projects concurrently.

Proficient in MS Office Suite to include Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint.

Self-starter, highly motivated individual that works well in a team environment.

Excellent written and oral communications.

Superior time management skills.

Broad knowledge of competitor products and general comprehension of the POS market.

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.

Ability and willingness to travel as needed.

Extensive training experience in POS and/or payment products and software.

BS degree.

PMP Certification desired.


Travel up to 40% is required when necessary by the customer and/or directed by sales management.
